The Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped 251 points, or almost one percent, to 26,656.
The S&P 500 added 23 points, or zero-point-eight percent, to 2,930.
The Nasdaq added 78 points, or one percent, to 8,028.
South Korea's main stock market ended higher Thursday.
The benchmark KOSPI added 15 points, or two-thirds of a percent, to 2,323, hitting the highest since June 29th.
The tech-hevy KOSDAQ dropped zero-point-seven percent to 821.
