Energy stocks spiked while most of Wall Street fell on Monday after weekend attacks on Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities added to investors’ concerns about geopolitical risk and a stumbling global economy.
At closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell one-half a percent while the S&P 500 lost point-3 percent and the Nasdaq Composite dropped just about that much.
On the Korean bourse, Stocks finished higher on Monday for the seventh consecutive session, driven by gains in refineries and shipbuilders.
The benchmark Kospi rose point-6 percent to close at 2,062.22.
