The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 63 points, or a quarter-of-a-percent, to 25,822.
The S&P 500 gained six points, or zero-point-two percent, to 2,863.
The Nasdaq added 38 points, or half-a-percent, to 7,859.
Closer to home,... South Korean shares ended higher on Tuesday.
The benchmark KOSPI gained 22 points, or one percent, to close at 2,270.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ shot up 17 points, or two-and-a-quarter percent, to close at 787.
