There are no boundaries
And no caring hands
To sprinkle the manure
And spray the pesticides

It still proliferates
At the nature’s instinct
Far away in the wild
Un-noticed
From the glaring, and the asserting
Yet Hippocratic,
Eyes of discipline and civilization

The occasional spells of rain
Have made the shoots
Of a lonely shrub
Spring up
In the crevices of the walls
Of the monument
Deserted and barren


It, now, smiles and swings
To the wild wind
And celebrates the spirit of life
Against all odds
And the neglecting, civilized eyes
Of the unconcerned passers by!
