Description
When you were
In your early thirties
And loved to ride a bike,
A black Enfield it was.
And me as your loving kid,
For fun would sit on the fuel-tank,
And as you rode
With the tempo
Of the moving bike
And the wind on my face,
I would close my eyes
And keep them closed
Until we reached home.
My mind calm
And my thought process meditative.
As a child I little understood
But full of belief
Of being saved from
Every bump or pothole,
For at that time
You were there to take care,
The bumpy ride on potholes
Of the rugged road
Always made me giggle.
Dad!
Now too I ride
But on my own
And the ride is not the same,
Every bump startles
And ever pothole scares me.
Dad, Years have passed,
I still desperately
Miss that ride.
