Description
Crying boy sits in the corner sucking his thumb
Small, he assumes the foetal position.
Squinted eyes and gnarled hands,
He casts a pathetic looking shadow.
Crying boy wipes away the insincere tears,
But the self pity he feels is all too real.
Sobbing into the bosom of anybody who will listen.
His face screwed up into a painful looking grimace.
But behind the pained facial expression belies a cruel smirk
Beyond glazed eyes hides a frightful spectre within
That scans it's surroundings.
Locks on to its prey and licks its lips
Whilst rubbing its greedy palms together.
It lies in wait in its hole casting a web of deceit.
With lightning speed it snatches its victim away
From the realms of safety.
Entwining it with silken disregard and keeps it there
As a toy to play with at its own leisure.
Unravelling and re-wrapping its prey
With a sickening whim.
Then the hostage is released without warning,
Dazed, drained, a shell.
The light sucked out from within
And disposed of like a corpse.
Crying boy lies in wait for his next fix
To quench his thirst.
Soul stealer, energy taker.
Taking all your tears and masquerading them as his own.
