Lawrence Beck - D-Day
5 Views • Jun 18, 2014
Description
Seven decades past. We have on
Helmets. With our Garand guns,
We storm the bunkers, and we die
In droves. The ocean's red, but,
In the end, the Huns retreat.
The Froggie honeys kiss our lips,
But we press on until we've crossed
The Rhine, and freedom reigns for
All, and then we go back to the
Bunkers, settle in, and scan the
Waters, waiting for the next assault.
Liberators long ago, now occupiers,
Like the Huns, we bring our cameras
To the beaches. Who'd have thought,
In seven decades, we'd become the
Ones we hated? Worse, that that
Would prove the be the final war
We won?
