Plot Summary

Kintaro encounters Reiko Tarayama, a rich, beautiful, and fiercely independent woman who is completely obsessed with her custom racing motorcycle. She’s arrogant, looks down on men, and especially despises Kintaro the moment she meets him—finding him clumsy, pathetic, and unworthy of her time.

True to form, Kintaro doesn’t fight her hostility directly. Instead, he becomes fascinated with her motorcycle, treating it with almost sacred respect. While Reiko mocks him, he secretly studies motorcycle mechanics, pouring over manuals, taking notes, and examining her bike whenever he can.

Reiko challenges him, setting up situations where she expects him to fail. But Kintaro’s persistence and genius for self-study shine through. In a dramatic climax, he proves his skill and deep understanding of motorcycles in a way that shocks her and earns her reluctant respect.

By the end, Reiko is left confused and intrigued by Kintaro—she can’t believe someone so ridiculous could also possess such hidden depth. Of course, Kintaro moves on again, leaving another woman both frustrated and touched by his mysterious nature.
