william mcgehee - Smile

Description
I wonder if there is some way
To prolong the moment for awhile,
To see her smile everyday.
Should I kiss her on the cheek?
Or should I simply speak her fair?
What is the key that I must seek
So I may unlock her smile there?
For it’s not the kiss or the word
That has the power to bring
So much joy to those lips of hers
That she would seem about to sing.
It is the joy of life’s surprise
Which brings that sparkle to her eyes.
