william mcgehee - Cafe Snowy Night
3 Views • Nov 09, 2014
Description
Consumes me in this small cafe,
The scent of coffee and of food,
An eerie voice of yesterday.
And now that voice of one long gone
Warms me as if t’were the fire’s light.
The syllables he once has sung
Protect me from the snowy night.
But now my drink is gone and I
Must venture out into the snow.
I must now leave the singer’s sighs
And the fire’s bright red warming glow.
Though I’ll be back again sometime
To listen to the singer’s rhyme.
