Description

He runs through the deserts wild and free
Chasing after the honey bee
Even when it’s to his demise
Honey seems to be his ultimate prize

He wakes up proud the day to meet
With soft desert sand under his feet
I never knew a creature so tough could be
That even from danger he would not flee

With his unassuming thick fur coat
Through the desert he seems to float
He scratches around for what he can find
Doesn`t really matter, he does not mind

In the day he eats as if he were ten
And then at night he digs his den
So when He then curl`s up to sleep
Under the sand so warm and deep

Snuggled up in a bundle of fur
The day starts to fade and completely blur
Tired and confident he lays his head
Deep in the sand where he`s made his bed

He`s dreams are filled with only one thing
Out of which tree stump the honey will spring
So tomorrow his search will resume
Hopefully it won`t be to his tomb

So as the sun rises in the east
He heads out to find his feast
So even if a snake his path did take
A sure meal out of it he would make

A more tenacious creature i have never seen
A stronger character there has never been
No matter what animal seems to draw near
He just refuses to show any fear

Even a predator who thinks he`s found a prize
Had better watch out, it’s in for a surprise
So even when at a leopards feet he does lie
He won’t roll over, he refuses to die

He will struggle and fight right to the end
A very strong message he does send
That the next time a badger you do see
You better be smart and leave him be

So if ever you see him cross the sand
Running as if he owned the land
Look and know that what you see
He is the king of the honey bee
