Varai (Bhagar) upvas khichadi
Description
Ingredients –
1 small bowl – varai / bhagar
½ small bowl – roasted & peeled peanuts.
4 to 5 – green chillies
1 tea spoon peeled ginger.
1 tea spoon – cumin seeds
1 medium size potato.
First of all – rinse varai / bhagar 2-3 times in cold water, then drain water & keep it aside.
Grind green chillies & ginger in mixture.
Also grind peanuts & cumin seeds in mixture.
Boil 4 small bowl of water for 1 small bowl of varai & keep it a side.
Now heat pure ghee in pan, when ghee is warm, put first cumin seeds, grinded green chillies & ginger paste in it, varai(bhagar) & potato, stir it well, put crushed/ grinded peanuts in it & stir it well.
Stir it continuously for at least 5 - 10 mins.on medium flame, now pour boiled water in a pan, put salt to taste, cover with lid for 10 mins. on low flame.
Finally garnish with grated coriander leaves & serve hot.
