Trump backs PM Modi at G7

U.S. President Donald Trump showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France, highlighting both Modi’s leadership and the strength of India-US relations. As the two leaders discussed trade, defence, energy security and regional developments, Trump repeatedly emphasized his admiration for the Indian Prime Minister.

“He is the most beautiful man, like an angel. He is a killer, he is a tough man. He loves Indian people and also loves US people,” Trump said while speaking about Modi. He further underscored his support by declaring, “If anybody attacks this man, I am going to be there for him.”

Trump also stressed India’s growing global influence, saying, “I think India plays a big role in everything, including West Asia as long as Modi is PM.” Calling himself a strong friend of India, Trump added, “As long as I am President, they (India) have a great friend in the White House,” reaffirming the close partnership between the two nations.
