Description

Hello everyone and welcome. Let me start by saying PTSD is a serious disorder. Believe me I know. In today's film from 1946 called The Chase. We have a man named Chuck. Now Chuck is a WW ll veteran, homeless and suffers from bad dreams and even with all this he is not only a good guy but an honest guy. One day Chuck finds a wallet on the street and being the good guy he is, returns it to it's owner. Unbeknownst to Chuck at first, the wallet belongs to a notorious gangster Eddie Roman. Roman has a mean streak, not only does he frighten his henchmen but treats his wife, Lorna just a bad. Eddie likes the fact that Chuck is honest and decides to hire him as his personal driver. Chuck at an ends, takes the job and all the cruelty that goes with it. Eddie has a henchman named Gino, who helps keep on eye on things and his wife. Well, Lorna has had enough and wants out. Chuck still having bad dreams and being in love with her, tries to help and it's off to Cuba or is it. What happens next maybe a dream or a harsh reality. Will Chuck aka Scotty by his boss, find love, happiness and some peace of mind. How much can Gino take and will Eddie ever get his comeuppance. Well we'll just have to sit back and watch. Staring in this tale we have...Robert Cummings as Chuck, Michèle Morgan as Lorna, Steve Cochran as Eddie, Peter Lorre as Gino, Lloyd Corrigan as Emmerich Johnson, Jack Holt as Cmdr. Davidson, Don Wilson as Fats, Alexis Minotis as Lt. Acosta, Nina Koshetz as Madame Chin, Yolanda Lacca as Midnight, James Westerfield as Job the Butler and Jimmy Ames as The Killer. So let's have some beer with whiskey "chasers" aka Boilermakers and see what happens. Also thanks so much for watching.
