Guilty Bystander 1950

Hello and welcome everyone. Ahh, the life of a 1950s "house detective" (usually a former cop who now watches over a hotel). Believe it or not I'm old enough to remember when they were still around. Now days we have camera systems, alarms and so on. I think they stopped using them in either the late 70s or early 80s. Anywho, in today's movie from 1950 and called Guilty Bystander we have Max. Now Max who's last name is Thursday (Mmm, reminds me of Dragnet) is a house detective for his lady friend Smitty's hotel. Well if you want to call it that, it has rooms with beds. Now Max has a bit of a drinking problem, an ex-wife named Georgia and a young son named Jeff (My name is Jeff). One day Georgia comes to the hotel to find Max and tell him that their son Jeff and her brother Fred are missing. She tells Max that she was informed by Fred's business associate Dr. Elder not to tell the police. Well Max while still intoxicated decides to investigate on his own. One thing leads to another and bodies start piling up and Max realizes he needs to start sobering up. Staring in this seedy tale we have..Zachary Scott as Max, Faye Emerson as Georgia, Mary Boland as Smitty, Sam Levene as Captain Tonetti, J. Edward Bromberg as Varkas, Kay Medford as Angel, Jed Prouty as Dr. Elder, Harry Landers as Bert, Dennis Patrick as Fred and Ray Julian as Johnny.
