When doubt casts over your shoulder
amd you wish that you were older,
mature to face the questions-as-must,
secure to see your face in the dust,

.....

You were probably right to feel insecure,
this damsel, demure (!) , until once more,
doubt's roots curl into your darting eyes.

Disappointed perhaps. But not suprised.
