Description

A hearty dish of crispy potato "browns" stuffed with savory ground beef.
Core Ingredients:
Potatoes: 4 large russet potatoes, shredded (or 1 bag frozen hash browns, thawed).

Beef Filling: 1 lb ground beef, 1 small onion (diced), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tsp paprika, salt, pepper.

Binding: 2 eggs, ¼ cup flour (or gluten-free alternative).

Cheese: 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella.

For Cooking: Oil for frying/brushing.

Simplified Procedure:
--Prep Potatoes: Shred potatoes. Rinse in cold water, then squeeze very dry in a clean towel.
--Make Filling: Cook beef, onion, and garlic until beef is browned. Season with paprika, salt, and pepper. Drain fat. Let cool slightly, then mix in ½ cup of the cheese.
--Form Browns: In a bowl, mix shredded potatoes, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper. Press a layer of this potato mix into a greased muffin tin or form patties by hand.
--Stuff & Top: Make an indent, add a spoonful of beef filling, and top with more potato mix to seal. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.

Cook:
--Oven Method (Muffin Tin): Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 mins until golden and crispy.
--Skillet Method: Pan-fry shaped patties in oil over medium heat for 4-5 mins per side.
--Serve: Let cool briefly, then remove from tin. Serve hot with sour cream or ketchup.

Key Tip:
The most important step is removing all moisture from the shredded potatoes for maximum crispiness.
