Sneha Murali - All Alone

the awful feeling of being alone
when night time comes and the light is gone
i look at the stars across the nightsky bright
my eyes with fear and my heart with fright

a chilling feeling crawling down my neck
absolutely no eyes to look upon me
all at once invisible, out of sight
sitting with my heart beating, only mine

not a soul, no fly, no mouse
not a footstep creeped inside the house
the only company being the leaves rushing in
left to my own thoughts, a world of silence

next day, staring at the brick wall
no sound, no sight, feeling deaf and dumb
the only life, i live alone
for never a gain come my way

around me, ghosts, spirits of my past
reliving each second from dusk to dawn
a nightmare during day, my sleeps
a stone hit upon my glass soul

walking a line, as thin as my life
a fall could mean sheer disaster
but what more disaster do i need
my balloon like life deflating faster

my only guests being - hate and neglect
my only friends being- myself and i
withering away like a dead rose
like a plant that has not been watered
