He came in Oct. and brought lease and waited at door for us to sign. I had become late in April with rent, but notified them in writing When I would be sending payment. I kept to my word. In October, He and I discussed how I could get current with rent and supposedly some that was remaining on deposit from 3 years ago. He also accused me of not getting rent for 3 months this year. Those months were paid by money orders, which I made copies of and sent them. Each time I sent money orders, they have no record of me paying. He still is saying that I didn't pay those months. I have kept to my word since he & I spoke, yet he still has not sent me our copies of lease, which he has promised since October. I had sent Dec. rent on time, and today he calls and says that they are sending it back. I had wrote on the memo of the check that no further rent months due, because on the last check someone wrote on my check that I owed previous month's rent, which I had already sent copies of my money order receipts. Now he has threatened eviction. we had went almost 9 months of not hearing from anyone, now he has started this type of behavior. His company had went bankrupt and I know the other 2 homes his company owned.that are in my neighborhood had been foreclosed on by the bank. we didn't know for 8-9 months if our home was going to be as well. Around the time of reading in paper about bankruptcy, he wanted me to start making rent checks payable to him, then 3 months later, I was told to make them out to his wife. If they have sent back my December rent check, what are my rights in regards to possible eviction? -
