Description
The TAPTITE® PRO™ thread rolling technology forms it's own mating thread into steel and light metal applications. TAPTITE® PRO™ has a unique parabolic thread profile that can lead to the screw breaking as the failure mode when self-tapping into aluminum applications, as opposed to aluminum thread strip out. Screw breaking is the preferred failure mode in aluminum applications as the maximum clamp load can be developed and the aluminum piece can be saved if the joint is over torqued.
