I resolved to fight
I scarce had strength to stand
I trembled in every limb
I could go no farther
I resolved to fight
Wearied in body, broken in spirit
Humble...
I nerved myself up
Come what might
I resolved to fight
Cowardice departed
From whence came the spirit
I don't know
Persist in my resistance
I resolved to fight
Repelled the bloody arm of slavery
To the heaven of freedom
Determination...
You have seen how a man was made a slave
You shall see how a slave was made a man
I resolved to fight
