Rafe Chanteloup - strength

watching birds fly on wings
made of silver and gold
dreaming of things
both of new and of old
i dream of water
that i fall deep into
and i hear it shatter
from one piece to two
i dream of a friend
trustworthy and true
he doesn't pretend
he won't make me blue.
i wish for tomorrow
when light shines in beams
and i won't have to borrow
strength from my dreams.
