00:31 movement of the air through the
00:33 recirculation of your heating and air
00:34 conditioning to make sure you have
00:35 healthy air the number one question that
00:37 we get asked all the time is when should
00:40 a duct cleaning be performed this is a
00:44 pretty sensitive subject for me because
00:46 I'm not a firm believer in a duct
00:48 cleaning unless there was some kind of
00:49 catastrophic event in the house that
00:51 requires a duct cleaning a normal duct
00:55 system according to the state of
00:57 California and all the boards that
00:58 research it leaks somewhere in the
01:00 neighborhood of 30 percent of your air
01:02 so if you turn on your system thirty
01:04 percent of your air that you're heating
01:06 or cooling is lost to an unconditioned
01:08 space that being said you're also gonna
01:11 draw air in from those spaces that the
01:14 air is being lost to it's called the
01:15 venturi effect when you bring that
01:17 contaminated air in you're circulating
01:19 it into your home
01:20 therefore the ductwork is gonna get
01:22 dusty if a duct system is done properly
01:25 and it's sealed up airtight and the
01:27 furnace is tight and the coils tight and
01:29 the plenums are tight like what title 24
01:31 requires your filter is gonna catch all
01:34 that dust and debris in the systems
01:35 pretty much gonna stay as clean as it
01:37 needs to be far having any kind of crazy
01:41 allergies or asthma issues there's
01:43 add-on products that you can put in for
01:44 that but a duct cleaning really is more
01:47 than just sticking a vacuum in your
01:48 ductwork which is what a lot of these
01:50 companies come out and do so if you're
01:52 requiring a lot of duct cleaning you
01:55 should be careful and just maybe stop
01:56 and look at the overall picture instead
01:58 of having these companies come out with
02:00 their shop backs and the brushes and the
02:01 the whole hocus-pocus show so again make
02:04 sure you're paying attention to what's
02:05 going on
