Myrtle Thomas - Time
1 Views • Nov 04, 2014
Description
borrowed, not ours....
seeking life and it's promise
while we coast along it's roads
feeling invincible until we stumble or fall
looking for endearment in the eyes of the soul
trusting hearts at times get fooled
love letters somehow fade with time
as the words whispered sweetly pass
from our ears yet stay deep within our minds
softly in tune with a beating heart
become parched as a victorian valentine
time steals the vanity, with wrinkles and weight
yet somewhere embodied warmth of beauty lingers in a desirable heart
looking through eyes, longing to catch a glimmer of that time of laughter
on a first date
the clock of seasons out run us, for the second hand slowly makes it's round
to leave the heart breathless and close the eyes with a blink
then the skin becomes like porcelain, as the mortician paints our face.
