Myrtle Thomas - Painting

Description
shades of earth tones
bright was the eyes, yet dull the potters clay
smooth the foundation with a touch of rosey red
and peach
I brushed on
- - - I decked the image with costume jewels - - -
as the sun warmed the structure
penetrating it's very being
yet unnoticed, the look maybe contemporary to some
I painted today
I sprayed the vessel with costly earths musk
a fragrant perfume, enticing the bees
who swarm the wind
lovely blossoms, petals memorable
I painted
the task worthy for a time
before the weather turns to enemy
or the nature decays the structure
as elements claim this painting
or time destroys the process
I painted
joy to look upon for a moment
even under the moonlight of mirrors
casting the reflection of only me
standing motionless and undesirable
without confidence in myself
as I feel vanity even in these eyes
