When expecting the worst
There is no way but up
Bitter wine gets served -
I shall drink my cup
When the heat dissipates
I will have no regret
And walk away
In ten seconds flat

Where's the point in fighting
For reluctant affection
Won with tears and pleas
It brings poor satisfaction
Given choice to keep moving
In downward direction
I will take my ten seconds
Of sheer perfection

Chin up, head held high
While fighting back tears
But eyes fixed firm
On the next frontier
This slide downhill
Will fade, disappear
Leaving first ten seconds
That got me here

It is futile to search
Who, what to blame
No use stoking ambers
In a ruined flame
I'll forget your faults
But carry on through
Ten seconds it took me
To fall for you
