Mark Trajano - Symphony

You can ask forgiveness from the night
the only witness with caring breath.
Pleading for compassion’s slight sight
you kissed the ground as you would to death.

Desiring to hear music play
From moonlight’s warm, gracious, gentle heart,
the blemished kneeled hard to pray
trembling with dread on his shoulder’s part.

Hardened by the flames of the Sun,
a moment before this damned spectacle
when all were placed, spun, to be done,
a prayer too late for miracle.
