Linda Ori - CONTEMPLATION

Thoughts in random motion
As I sit before this screen
It's time to get my feet back on the ground -
Deeply contemplating
All the memories of my life
The many gifts and blessings that abound;

The days are quickly passing
Time is lost and can't be saved
So many things I've yet to understand -
Have I lived my life well?
Have I given all I could?
Did I make this world a better place as planned?

I never thought I'd end up
On my own, but here I am
Alone and wondering what it's all about -
I've always needed comfort
And someone to share my life
To stand alone I always felt in doubt;

I know I should be happy
For the blessings I have found
But I feel there's something missing in my life -
My children grown and gone now
And my family far away
No longer am I mother, friend and wife;

I made the choice to wander
On my own to find my truth
My search for wisdom led me far and wide -
And now I find the answers
In the friendships I have made
And insights gathered on the other side;

This life has much to offer
If we take the time to see
The bounty that is ours if we just look -
And though my days are numbered
Still my eyes are open wide
Perhaps it's time to finally write my book!
