Not so young and vibrant anymore
Wonder what the future holds in store
What contract did I sign on coming in?
When does the living end and death begin?

I watch as others teeter on the brink
What designates the change in how we think?
An inkling from subconscious level mind
That tells us we're beginning to unwind?

It seems that once the process has begun
The body knows there is no place to run
And so the battle wages, short or long
And in the end the living sing our song:

They praise us for the good deeds we have done
And raise us up as rainbows in the sun,
Funny how you never hear a word
About the juicy stories they all heard:

They say nobody's perfect, that's for sure
So who are they to say you were not pure?
The slate is clean again and all is well..........
Will heaven take you in or give you hell?
