I can't pretend
To feel the love that isn't there
But I try anyway

But I make it seem that way
I can't pretend that this doesn't hurt
But I do anyway.

You look at me with such love
I have to turn away in fear
That you'll see my true feelings
You love me, but I love another
But I pretend to love you
I can't bear to see you hurting
So I pretend to love you
So I can see that smile cross your face.
