Himanshu Bhandari - Ode To A Tree
4 Views • Jun 16, 2014
Description
Covered with living hair of green.
Holding and grasping the earth below
Forever you seem to grow.
In the sunlight you delight
Nourishing yourself with photosynthesis.
Your breath makes others breathe
The earth’s survival web you weave.
On your bosom do birds nest
And squirrels burrow in your trunk.
Benevolent lord of the jungle!
Sustainer of all life on earth.
Neither in infancy nor in old age,
Have you ever cried in pain.
Even your death goes not in vain,
From your woody carcass do many gain.
