Fire Tears Through Dunkirk Migrant Camp

A fire tore through the Grande-Synthe migrant camp near Dunkirk, northern France, late on Monday, April 10.
At least 10 people were injured in the blaze, according to France 24</a>, quoting firefighters. The fire broke out just hours after several people were injured in a fight between migrants inside the camp, according to local newspaper Le Phare Dunkerquois</a>.
The Grande-Synthe migrant camp, which was developed by Doctors Without Borders</a> and the local government, was only opened in early 2016. French authorities in March</a> announced plans to dismantle the Dunkirk camp “as soon as possible.”
