Residents of central Newfoundland experienced a record breaking snowfall during a late spring snowstorm in the early hours of Thursday, May 24.
According to local news reports</a>, the storm dumped over a foot of snow (35 cm) in Gander, which is the most snow ever received in the area on May 24.
Previously, the record snowfall on May 24 was 2.4 inches (6 cm) in 1965, the Gander Beacon</a> reported.
