Description

It’s a weird sight for sure, but also a rare one. Part of the monotreme family, the echidna is famous for its spiky body, similar to porcupines and hedgehogs.

Vets at a RSPCA hospital in Wacol, southwest of Brisbane, were fascinated to receive a mother echidna with a baby in its pouch, as seen in this footage posted on February 15.
