The group is just about to make a vocabulary test.
I ask the pupils for attention and to put away their books, because I gave them 10 minutes to study some more. I wait untill everyone is quiet, which does not take, a very long time. When I have their attention I tell them what they can do when they have finished the test and remind them of the test which is rescheduled. After that the test starts and I wish them good luck.
I do not remind them of the rules, which I think is not necessary to do all the time, but still it will not harm them if I do.
In this small clip I show that I can make my pupils to listen to me without a lot of effort. I give them space and time to do their own thing, but when I want their attention they have to give that. Because this is very clear, there is a nice athmosphere in our classroom, because there is always time for working together and working individually. This makes it easy to work with them.
