Pupils of this class are very into sports, especially soccer. This is also a group which has a lot of pupils who are in the so called High School Football class. That means that three times a week they get extra soccer practice from a soccer coach at school.

The text was about the national sport of Canda which is icehockey. We have just read the text and now I am discussing some of the words with the class, this is a way to see if they have understood the most difficult words and wordcombinations with them.

The text talks about one of the greatest icehockey players, I make the connection to soccer and our greatest soccer player. I let the pupils discuss this, but when I want to say something I easily gain back their attention. This is an example that I can give away the controle as well as taking it back again.
