No single liquid chromatography detector delivers ideal results. Often, one analyte responds more strongly than another, or may not respond at all. Charged aerosol detection can measure any non-volatile and most semi-volatile analytes at sub-nanogram levels and does not require a compound to contain a chromophore or be able to ionize. This video describes how a charged aerosol detector works and how an analyte travels through the detector.
