Description

I called you
And you smash the phone on the cradle
You don’t do that to other girls?
You listen
Because their names are like yours
Emma, Ava, Tina, Stephanie?
Because they might have a skin like yours
And why are you better?
Superior Caste?
Self- proclamation!
A white skin can not judge your heart
I am fair too
Then why am I Indian- nigger, downcast?
For once your kind have enslaved us
You would continue to belittle me?
If say I am Emma
Will you listen to me?
Does name matter to you so much?
But that’s me! Indian- nigger, downcast
A name could not change what I am within
I will not change it!
Nor my dress hair or eyes
Not for you
Because one of you said he loves me
My beauty, my smile
And I am glad to think of the day
When I walked
Over his flower of love.

[One week as Tele- Caller and I knew that still people are biased about races, places and faces…. Expression of emotions during that period! knowingly and unknowingly we all are still shallow within]
