Description
I'll put up my hood,
wrap a scarf around my neck,
And wear my sunglasses indoors if I must.
I want to avoid knowing glances,
Cheeky smiles,
and over-friendly greetings from complete strangers.
Pats on the back make my skin crawl.
I will keep my head down, avoid eye contact,
Stay in my own world,
become antisocial.
I crave to be ignored.
Then, when everyone turns their back on me,
When they leave this outsider to his own devices,
I will get on my knees and plead for them to look at me again.
