Description

I bought a 3D Printer! This G-Clamp is my first useful print with this awesome new tool. Material cost for this clamp was a whopping 38 cents.

Back "in the old days" all homesteads had a metal shop. While I'm able to do some metal work, I lack the talent to fabricate the things that this printer can fabricate!
Sometimes you have to be aware of your limitations and make use of the talents you DO HAVE! Having many many years experience with computers, this fits the bill nicely. Many things that are made of metal can also be made of plastic.

These 3D printers are not what I would call "Consumer Ready" This one came from China as a kit and it took me three days to put together and to calibrate enough that I was able to print a useful piece. I'll be printing several of these clamps for making critter cages with. (you can NEVER have enough clamps!)

If you're thinking of getting you're own 3D Printer, check out the ThingiVerse website where you can download pre-modeled items to print and use right away. If you are interested in creating your own models then check out the TinkerCad website where you can do just that!
