YCombinator 9 rules to succeed with startups

These are YCombinators teachings distilled in 9 rules:

1. Validate your problem early on: get payment, or you don't have proof of the problem.

2. Do things that don't scale: high retention, manual onboarding. Everything that you need prior scaling. Or you will burn lots of cash.

3. Ignore competitors: you will most likely fail because of your own team and cofounders rather than external factors

4. Fire quickly

5. Obsess over customers: roadmap has to be designed over their feedback

6. Stay lean until you can't anymore

7. Deploy new versions frequently

8. Always know your unit economics, especially the date to cash $0

9. Be transparent with your cofounders: things will get ugly and rough before getting nice.
