Xenobots - living robots

These are live machines. They are neither traditional robots nor any new kind of animal. It is a programmed form of existence that neither belongs to robots as we know them today, nor to living beings. They have no nervous system, but are composed of cells of the heart muscle and epithelium. They can bend, move, join, orbit one another and "carry the load." While some suggest that this scenario is a disaster, scientists say xenobots are pretty harmless at this stage. The group of biologists and computer scientists who created these "living mechanisms" say they can be used to cleanse the seas and oceans from microplastics, since they are biodegradable. Also, they could be used to transport therapeutic substances.
