Description

*Allah* is the Arabic word for God, and in Islam He is understood as the One and only Creator, Sustainer, and Lord of all that exists.

Here’s how Muslims describe Him:

*1. The Concept in Islam*
- *Tawheed / Oneness*: Allah is absolutely One, with no partners, equals, sons, or daughters. This is the central belief of Islam: _“Say, He is Allah, [who is] One”_ — Qur’an 112:1.
- *Beyond human form*: Allah is not a physical being and is not like His creation. He is beyond time, space, and material limits.
- *The 99 Names*: Muslims refer to Allah by many attributes that describe His nature, like _Ar-Rahman_ The Most Merciful, _Al-Khaliq_ The Creator, _Al-‘Aleem_ The All-Knowing, _Al-‘Adl_ The Just.

*2. Relationship with creation*
- *Creator & Sustainer*: Everything in the universe exists by His will and is dependent on Him.
- *Merciful & Just*: Islam teaches that Allah is both compassionate toward His servants and perfectly fair in judgment.
- *Known through revelation*: Muslims believe Allah communicated guidance to humanity through prophets — including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and the final prophet Muhammad ﷺ — and through scriptures, with the Qur’an being the final revealed book.

*3. How the word is used*
“Allah” is used by Arabic-speaking Christians and Jews too, because it simply means “The God.” In Islam specifically, it refers only to the One God worshipped without intermediaries.

In short: For Muslims, Allah is the unique, eternal, all-powerful God who created everything, guides people through revelation, and deserves to be worshipped alone.

Would you like me to also share how Allah is described in Surah Al-Ikhlas, which is often called the “summary” of who Allah is?
