Description

what is Ramadan and why do Muslims do it?
Ramadan is a holy month observed by Muslims worldwide. It's the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which is based on the cycles of the moon.
A time for fasting, prayer, reflection, and community.
One of the Five Pillars of Islam, the core practices of Islam.
Commemorates the first revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad.
Why Muslims observe Ramadan:

To grow closer to God (Allah in Arabic).
To develop self-discipline and empathy for those less fortunate.
To practice gratitude for their blessings.
How long it lasts:

29 to 30 days, depending on the sighting of the crescent moon.
How Muslims fast:

Muslims abstain from food, drink, and certain activities from dawn to sunset.
The pre-dawn meal is called Suhoor, and the meal to break the fast is called Iftar.
It's a time for increased prayer, charity, and good deeds.
