Since 1994, Ak’ Tenamit has implemented the UN, "We Must Educate the Girls" because we strongly believes that the key to ending rural poverty lies with educating women and girls. Evidence proves that educating women and girls drastically improves health care and incomes, and we are make a point to ensure that half our study body is female.
