Learn How to Draw Easy Pumpkins--iCanHazDraw!
Description
Autumn is here! Time for cooler weather, holiday celebrations, and PUMPKINS! Use this pumpkin design to embellish stationary, wrapping paper, or create your very own pumpkin patch on paper!\r
\r
In this lesson, Cheri shows you step by step how to create two different pumpkins, using some simple shapes and different shades of orange markers. First, draw a circle or oval shape. Exaggerate it as much as you like or keep it simple. Intersect your pumpkin with vertical ovals. Overlap them to give the pumpkin ribs and create the illusion of three-dimension. Draw the stem and add a curly tendril or two. Outline your drawing with an ink pen or sharpie marker. Erase the pencil lines to leave a clean black and white illustration.\r
\r
To color, pick a light shade and a dark shade of orange and your favorite green. Fill in your pumpkin with the lighter orange then color the stem and tendril(s) green. With the darker orange, color the shadows on the bottom of the pumpkin and in the crevices where the ribs of the pumpkin meet. With a light blue marker, pencil, or crayon, create a small shadow under the pumpkin. You can color a little dark blue or black directly under the pumpkin to create more contrast. Sign your drawing and youre done!
