Le Silambam, le Kuthuvarisai et le Varmakalai sont certainement les arts martiaux les plus anciens au monde. Ils ont pour Origine le Tamil Nadu (sud de l’Inde). Les recherches archéologiques confirment l’utilisation d’armes pour le Silambam dés le 6éme millénaire avant Jésus-Christ. Le Kuthuvarisai est une technique à mains nues et le Varmakalai utilise la technique ancienne des points vitaux du corps.

Silambam, Kuthuvarisai and Varmakalai are among the oldest martial arts of the world. They originate from Tamil Nadu in south east India. Archeological research has confirmed the use of weapons for Silambam as early as 6000 BC. Kuthuvarisai is a technique with the bare hands, and Varmakalai uses ancient knowledge of the body’s vital points.
