Richie Roots created the Black Mind Label and recorded his first song, "Loving You", followed by, "Fight With All My Might", "Hi Hello", and his hit single, "Cruising". All recorded and mixed at Phillip Smart's HC&F studio. He then went behind the scene to build his studio and to help in the development of other artists

2002 mark the launch of Black Mind Recording, the company, as an opportunity for him to showcase his music and talent, as he write, sing, arrange, and produce. Working diligently in front and behind the scene proved advantageous for him in developing his own style of music. When not in the studio working, he enjoy reading, and listening to music.
