Violet Winters - Writer's Block

I wanted to write
for you tonight
but I can't think of what to say.
The days are getting longer,
the nights are getting harder,
the distance is feeling farther
and we're not getting stronger.
In fact, I've no hopes
that one day,
you'll stay.
I don't miss you so much
as I did before;
I can't picture my sons with
your eyes anymore.
I don't hold my breath
when I see a white pick up
and peer through the glass
of the driver's side door
hoping to find
you there.
