Egoist to the core
The poet sings of surrender
Of the ego as though
He were the herald of gods
Conspiring up above the Olympus
His words resound thunder-like
Yet as much tempting
As the persuasive, honeyed
Words of sea-nymphs of old
Adept at the art of love untold
Supremacy of syllables is a fact established
Both by God and Devil
That Man since the beginning has perceived
Ironically the liberator of mankind himself
Worships at the altar of this sort of tyranny
In consequence of which he himself is a tyrant
